Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
1 Peter 5:8-9
The road to enlightenment relies on our ability to be open to Christ’s teaching and word, be it from our surroundings or others. The prayer of an Apostle to the Ephesian Christians quoted here reminds us of this. In it, is the wish for others to attain spiritual understanding in accordance with the hope of the Lord for all his children to strive for spiritual perfection.
As inheritors of this tradition, in passing on the word, we commune with the holiest of Apostles. In passing on our prayers to others, we find unity with Christ. In wishes of finding God’s salvation born out of love and hope for mankind, we trace our true lineage to that of the Kingdom of Heaven.
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, give me the strength and vigilance to overcome the devil’s and there stumbling blocks for the glory of your name. Allow me to fortify my faith against all evil, under the guardianship of your Angels. Deliver me from Satan’s work Lord, and let me not falter or weaken in his wake. Grant me awareness, such that I may continue to lift my heart up closer to you. Amen.
