Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha
But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:12
It is through Jesus Christ that we have been qualified as children of God. When we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who did all of this so that we could be saved, we are accepting the new life He has given us. This is a life of redemption; a life as sons and daughters of God, whom we became separated from after the Fall of man. We have now come into a life of righteousness and holiness.
Paul Emphasises on the fruits of having become son’s of the kingdom of God in Ephesians 4:20-32: saying have you not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews aked about what to do in order to become a son in the kingdom of God: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
Today’s Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for setting me free from the power of sin over my life. I have chosen to leave my old, sinful self and I am fully focused on walking in the life of righteousness and holiness you have called me to live through your Son. Thank you, Father, that you are always there to reinforce my faith when anyone tries to tell me otherwise and by your promise do I live, no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every evil tongue which rises against me in judgement shall you condemn. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
