Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha
I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? And you forget the LORD your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth; You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor, When he has prepared to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor?
Isaiah 51:12-13
There is also comfort in mourning, because in the midst of mourning God gives a song. His presence in our lives changes our mourning into song, and that song is a song of comfort. This kind of comfort is the kind which enables one have the joy, love, hope and the peace of mind, that however much he or she has left is in the glory with the Son of man, Jesus Christ.
This kind of comfort is the kind which enabled you to see yesterday, today and tomorrow, the kind you can never find in the world but inside your heart as long as you let Jesus Christ sit in there. The comfort of everlasting from glory to glory, full of life and overcome of the last enemy and that is death. Revelation 20:14 says “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Thus says your Lord, The LORD and your God, Who pleads the cause of His people: “See, I have taken out of your hand The cup of trembling, The dregs of the cup of My fury; You shall no longer drink it. But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, Who have said to you, “Lie down, that we may walk over you.’ And you have laid your body like the ground, And as the street, for those who walk over.”
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, who knows what agony and grief are because of the sacrifice of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, I thank You for the comfort which embraces all those who love You in fear and honour of your name from sin to light through your previous blood to salvation. Amen.
