Hope in the Midst of Brokenness
Corrie ten Boom, who survived the horrors of a concentration camp, once said, “There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.” Despite losing her family and facing unimaginable suffering, she clung to God’s faithfulness and spent the rest of her life sharing hope with the world.
The Prophet Jeremiah, in the book of Lamentations, also discovered hope in the darkest of times:
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Jeremiah wrote these words while witnessing the destruction of Jerusalem, surrounded by grief, loss, and pain. Yet, in the midst of ruin, he lifted his eyes to God’s unfailing mercy and faithfulness.
You may be facing disappointments, grief, or moments where it feels like your world is falling apart. Even in such seasons, God’s love is unwavering. His mercies are new every morning—meaning, you never run out of hope, even when everything else fails.
Our faith does not deny pain but looks to the One who is faithful in it. He sees your tears, understands your pain, and is working in ways you may not see yet. Rest in His faithfulness tonight, trusting that tomorrow’s mercies will meet tomorrow’s challenges.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness that never fails and Your mercies that are new every morning. Help me to trust You even when I do not understand, and to find hope in Your promises. Comfort me tonight, and fill my heart with Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
1️⃣ Gratitude: Write down three ways God has shown His faithfulness to you, even in hard times.
2️⃣ Meditate: Read Lamentations 3:22-23 slowly before bed and thank God for His new mercies.
3️⃣ Encourage: Share a testimony of God’s faithfulness with someone who needs hope this week.
