Living United in Christ
In the 1950s, a small town was torn apart by division between neighbors, families, and even the church. A pastor reminded his congregation that the church is like a body: many parts, one head, one purpose. Slowly, the community began to heal as they focused on Christ, who unites and leads us all.
Paul writes to the Colossians about the supremacy of Christ:
“He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”
Colossians 1:18 (NKJV)
Reflection:
In a world full of division and discord, the church is called to be united under Christ’s leadership. Every believer is part of this body, each with a role to play, but all connected through Jesus.
When we focus on Christ as our head, pride, jealousy, and strife lose their power. We find purpose and peace as we live out His love and truth together.
Let Christ be your guide today, leading your heart, your relationships, and your service.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You are the head of the church and the leader of my life. Help me to follow You fully and to live in unity with my brothers and sisters. Teach me to honor You in all I do, and to serve with humility and love. In Your name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Connect: Reach out to a fellow believer today and encourage unity in your relationship.
- Serve: Find a way to serve in your church or community as part of the body of Christ.
- Reflect: Ask God to show you if there’s any division in your heart that needs healing.
