Reconciliation through the death of His Son

Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Romans 5:10

The word “reconcile” means literally “bring into a changed relationship.” It means to bring together two parties who should have been together all along. The Bible speaks of the human race as enemies of God. You may say that you are no “enemy” of God, but according to Scripture we are either passive or active enemies of God, apart from Christ. Reconciliation means “brought back into full relationship and fellowship with God.” This is what Christ accomplished on the cross. What a thrilling thought!

(Galatians 4:4-5) The scriptures says; But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

The start of this passage delineates a distinct time, as a time agreed and fixed upon between God and his Son from their Kingdom of eternity, in a council and covenant of peace. This reveals to us that there are progressive periods carefully calculated within God’s plan for us, divided into periods and which ultimately culminates in the life, death and the resurrection of Christ. The final culmination was divined by his disciples, as our Judgment Day.

If Christ appeared before us back then, would you have recognized his grace, or would you have fallen in line with unbelievers unwilling to repent? When the time of Judgment arrives, will you have been ready? For when the fullness of time has come, and our days are ending, will you be amongst the saved? An often touted phrase is ‘live everyday is your last’, but perhaps, for the lambs of the Lord, it would be better to render It ‘live everyday as if the Judgment has arrived.

Today’s Prayer

Your cross, dear Savior, brings me to my knees in humble gratitude. Thank You, for forgiving all the past and giving me strength to live each day in Your power. Lord, my time has come, your light divine, has shone upon us brighter than any star. We have my Lord, accepted into our hearts your words made flesh through your only begotten Son. When the time comes, let me be ready Lord, let my soul not be sullied, but have lain in wait, clothed with your truth and your blessing. Count me amongst your followers on that day of our final reckoning. In all this for the love of mighty Jesus I pray, Amen.
