Living Each Day with Eternity in View
A missionary once shared how, during a dangerous journey through a jungle, he saw a small flower blooming brightly in the dark forest. It reminded him that even in the most hidden places, God’s glory can shine, and hope can live.
As believers, we are called to shine in a dark world because Christ in us is our hope of glory.
Paul wrote:
“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Colossians 1:27 (NKJV)
Reflection:
The world chases many things for hope money, success, relationships, or fame but these hopes fade and disappoint. The true hope that anchors the soul is Christ in us.
Paul describes this as a “mystery” now revealed: Christ dwells within every believer, and His presence is our assurance of eternal glory with Him. This truth gives us strength to endure trials, courage to witness, and a reason to live each day with purpose.
You are not alone in your journey; Christ lives in you by His Spirit, empowering you to overcome sin, to serve others in love, and to walk in faith. When you feel weak, remember that the hope of glory is not in your strength, but in Christ’s power working through you.
Let today be a day you live with eternity in view, remembering that your hope is anchored in Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for living in me and for being my hope of glory. Help me to live today with the awareness of Your presence, allowing Your light to shine through me. Fill me with Your strength and joy, and use me to share this hope with others. In Your name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Take five minutes today to thank Jesus for His presence in your life.
- Memorize Colossians 1:27 to remind yourself where your hope lies.
- Share the hope of Christ with someone who feels hopeless, reminding them that true hope is found in Jesus alone.
