Living Ready for the King’s Return
There was a groom preparing for his wedding day. He had sent word to his bride to be ready, for he would return at a time she wouldn’t expect. The bride kept watch daily, making herself ready her dress clean, her heart excited. But some of her friends mocked her preparation, saying, “He’s delayed too long. He may never come.” Yet, one night, without warning, the groom appeared. Only the ready were welcomed into the feast. The others were left outside.
This is how Jesus described His return. Not with fear, but with urgency and love.
“Behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” Revelation 22:7
Reflection:
The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse of what will happen in the last days wars, plagues, deception, persecution. But it’s also filled with hope the promise of a returning King who will wipe away every tear, destroy evil, and reign forever.
Matthew 24:42 says, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
Are you ready? Not in fear, but in faith? The signs of the times natural disasters, moral decay, global instability remind us that the Bible is unfolding before our eyes. Jesus’ return is not a question of if, but when.
Living Ready in the End Times:
– Stay alert Don’t fall asleep spiritually. Be watchful in prayer, worship, and the Word. (1 Peter 5:8)
– Stay pure Let your life be a reflection of Christ’s holiness. (1 John 3:3)
– Stay on mission Share the Gospel urgently. Many still haven’t heard. (Matthew 28:19-20)
2 Peter 3:10 says, “The day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar… and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.”
This is not a time for fear it’s a time to wake up, look up, and stand firm.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, awaken my heart to the reality of Your soon return. Help me not to live distracted by the temporary things of this world. Keep me watchful, holy, and ready. Use me to share Your truth in these last days. Let me live each day as if You were coming tonight. In Your powerful name I pray, Amen.
Challenge:
1. Examine your life are there areas that need repentance or renewal in light of eternity?
2. Share your testimony or the message of salvation with someone this week.
3. Spend time studying Revelation or the teachings of Jesus about the End Times (Matthew 24–25).
Call to Action:
The signs are here. The King is near. Are you ready for His return? Let today be a day of awakening and bold faith.
