The Call to Reflect God’s Character
In 1904, the Welsh Revival swept through towns and villages, and one of the hallmarks of that movement was purity of heart. People began confessing sins, restoring broken relationships, and living differently, not because of legalism, but because they wanted to reflect the God who had saved them.
God gave a similar call to His people through Moses:
“For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy.”
Leviticus 11:44a (NKJV)
Reflection:
Holiness is not about perfectionism, it’s about alignment with God’s nature. When God called Israel to be holy, He was inviting them into a way of life that set them apart from the nations around them.
As believers today, holiness is still our calling, not to earn God’s love, but because we already have it. The world sees what God is like through how we live, speak, and love.
Holiness is not about trying harder; it’s about staying closer to the One who makes us holy.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling me to reflect Your character. Cleanse my heart, purify my motives, and help me to live in a way that honors You. May my life point others toward Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Self-Examination: Ask God to reveal any area of your life that’s not aligned with His holiness.
- Choose Purity: Make one intentional choice today that reflects God’s character.
- Shine Light: Let your actions tonight be a quiet testimony of the God you serve.
