Standing Firm When Life Shakes
In 1972, a devastating earthquake struck Nicaragua. Entire neighborhoods collapsed, and many people lost everything. Amid the rubble, a local pastor gathered survivors under a tree and read from his worn Bible: “But the Lord is faithful.” He told them, “We may have lost homes, but we have not lost hope, because God has not moved.” That day, faith became their shelter.
Paul reminds the Thessalonian believers of this same truth:
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NKJV)
Reflection:
The early church in Thessalonica faced persecution, false teaching, and fear. Paul doesn’t tell them to rely on their own resilience, he points them to God’s unshakable faithfulness.
God not only establishes you, making you firm in Him, but also guards you. His faithfulness is not seasonal; it’s eternal.
No matter what you face today, you can trust that God will never abandon you, and He will strengthen you for the journey ahead.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You are faithful in all seasons of my life. Establish my heart in Your truth, and guard me from the attacks of the enemy. Help me to stand firm, knowing You will never leave me nor forsake me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Recall His Faithfulness: Write down three times God has proven faithful in your past.
- Stand on His Word: When fear rises today, speak this verse out loud as a declaration.
- Encourage Another: Share this Scripture with someone going through a trial today.
