Don’t Stay Where You Started
A young boy once planted a seed in his backyard. Every day, he’d rush outside expecting to see a full-grown tree. But his grandfather gently told him, “Growth takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight but keep watering, and it will come.” Years later, the boy sat under that same tree’s shade, grateful for the slow, steady process.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Faith is not a one-time event it’s a lifelong journey. We’re not called to merely believe and stay where we are. We’re called to grow deeper in grace, stronger in knowledge, and more like Christ with each passing day.
Growth may feel slow. Some days, it may feel like nothing is changing. But just like the seed beneath the soil, transformation is happening where we can’t always see it. God is patient with us, shaping us, teaching us, and watering our souls with His Word.
Are you growing? Are you closer to Jesus today than you were yesterday?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me to grow in Your grace. Help me to hunger for Your Word and thirst for more of You. Teach me daily and stretch me in ways that reflect Your love and truth. May I never settle, but always press on to know You more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Reflect on your spiritual growth where have you matured, and where is God still working?
- Set a simple goal for your growth this week read a new passage, pray longer, or serve someone.
- Encourage someone else who’s still growing. We all need grace on the journey.
