The Desperate Need for Spiritual Rebirth

Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha

Evang Ps. Kenneth Nandoha

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Ephesians 2:1-3

Recognizing Our Need

Introduction:
In this series, we embark on a journey of discovery, beginning with an exploration of the profound need for spiritual rebirth. It’s essential to recognize that every one of us, regardless of our background or circumstances, has a desperate need for a fresh start in our spiritual lives.

The Human Condition:
We’ll start by delving into the human condition, examining the brokenness and emptiness that often pervade our lives. From the richest to the poorest, from the most successful to the most struggling, we all share a common longing for something more meaningful.

The Search for Fulfillment:
Many people attempt to fill this spiritual void with material possessions, achievements, or various distractions. However, as we will discuss, these pursuits often leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled. This sense of spiritual emptiness is what beckons us towards the concept of being born again.

Our Spiritual Bankruptcy:
We’ll explore the idea of spiritual bankruptcy, emphasizing that our efforts alone cannot bridge the gap between our brokenness and God’s perfection. It’s a recognition that, without divine intervention, we are spiritually destitute.

The Invitation:
In this chapter, we lay the foundation for the entire series. It’s an invitation to acknowledge our need for spiritual rebirth and to recognize that there is hope and transformation available through Jesus Christ. The journey begins with understanding the depths of our need.

Today’s Blessings:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts open to your truth. We acknowledge our desperate need for spiritual rebirth. We confess that we have walked in darkness and need your light to guide us. Lord, help us recognize the brokenness within us and the longing for something more meaningful. As we embark on this journey, open our eyes to the profound transformation available through Jesus Christ. In His name, we pray. Amen.
