Faithful to His Promises
In the 1800s, George Müller became known for running orphanages in England without ever asking for money. Instead, he prayed for every need. Time and again, food would arrive at the door just as the children sat down to an empty table. Müller often said, “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”
Hannah experienced this same faithfulness when she prayed for a child.
“So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, ‘Because I have asked for him from the Lord.’”
1 Samuel 1:20 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Hannah’s story reminds us that God hears, remembers, and answers prayer—in His time and His way. She waited in tears, prayed in faith, and trusted in surrender. And in due time, God gave her Samuel, whose very name means “asked of God.”
God’s delays are not denials. What feels like silence is often preparation. The same God who remembered Hannah remembers you. He is not distant. He is faithful.
Prayer:
Gracious Father, thank You that You are a God who remembers. Help me to trust Your timing even when I do not see immediate answers. Strengthen my faith to keep praying, keep believing, and keep waiting on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Recall Past Answers: Write down one time God answered a prayer in your life.
- Hold on in Hope: Bring one request to Him tonight and commit it afresh to His timing.
- Encourage a Friend: Share Hannah’s story with someone who feels God has forgotten them.
