Choosing God’s Way in Daily Decisions
A young businessman once visited Billy Graham and said, “I’m successful, but I don’t have peace. Every decision feels heavy, and I fear making the wrong choices.” Billy Graham gently replied, “Seek God’s wisdom daily, and you will find peace in the path He shows you.”
The book of Proverbs, filled with God’s practical guidance, reminds us:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Life is full of decisions—big and small—that shape our future and influence those around us. Many people live stressed, fearing they will make the wrong choices or miss God’s will. But God’s Word offers a simple and powerful promise: If we trust in Him with all our hearts and acknowledge Him in everything, He will direct our paths.
Trusting God means surrendering our own limited understanding, our fears, and our plans to His perfect wisdom. It means praying before making decisions and aligning our choices with His Word. It means saying, “Lord, what do You want?” instead of “This is what I want.”
As you prepare to rest tonight, reflect on the areas of your life where you need God’s guidance—your family, finances, ministry, or relationships. Trust Him to lead you, knowing that when you walk in His wisdom, you walk in His peace.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that You will direct my paths when I trust in You. Tonight, I surrender every area of my life into Your hands. Lead me by Your wisdom in every decision I make. Help me to lean not on my own understanding but to seek Your will daily. Fill me with peace as I follow Your path. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Before sleeping, write down areas in your life where you need God’s guidance and pray over them.
- Commit to reading a chapter of Proverbs daily for wisdom in your walk with God.
- Share Proverbs 3:5-6 with someone who may be struggling with decision-making to encourage them to trust God.
