Living in Fellowship with God
In the early years of Billy Graham’s ministry, a man once approached him after a crusade and said, “I believe in God, but I feel like I’m stumbling in the dark.” Billy replied, “Friend, God doesn’t want you to stumble, He wants you to walk in the light of His Son, Jesus Christ.”
The Apostle John echoes this invitation:
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
1 John 1:7 (NKJV)
Reflection:
The Christian life is not about hiding in shadows, it’s about walking openly in the light of Christ. When we walk in the light, sin loses its grip, relationships are restored, and joy flows from fellowship with God and with one another.
Light exposes, but it also heals. Walking in the light doesn’t mean perfection; it means honesty, surrender, and daily cleansing through the blood of Jesus. The darkness of guilt, shame, or secrecy is dispelled when we choose transparency before God.
Walking in the light brings freedom. It means living with nothing to hide and everything to gain in Christ.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the world. Help me to walk daily in Your light and not in darkness. Cleanse me from sin, restore my fellowship with others, and let my life shine with Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Step into the Light: Confess any hidden sin to God today and receive His forgiveness.
- Fellowship in Truth: Share a word of encouragement or testimony with another believer.
- Shine in the World: Do one act of kindness today that reflects the light of Christ.
