The Power of Daily Spiritual Growth
Years ago, a young farmer planted a small tree in his field, watering it every day. One season, a drought came, and while other trees withered, this small tree flourished because it had developed deep roots from daily care. The farmer’s consistency protected the tree from drying up in times of heat.
In the same way, daily spiritual growth is what will sustain you when spiritual droughts come. Peter encourages us:
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”
2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Christian growth is not a one-time event; it is a lifelong journey of deepening your relationship with Jesus. Many believers become spiritually dry because they neglect daily nourishment in God’s Word and prayer. Just as the tree survived because it developed deep roots, you will thrive spiritually when you intentionally grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.
Growth in grace means allowing God’s unmerited favor to shape your character and responses daily. Growth in knowledge means seeking to know Jesus more deeply through His Word and by the Spirit. In times of temptation, pressure, or discouragement, your spiritual roots will keep you standing firm.
Do not settle for spiritual stagnation. Each day, seek Jesus. Read His Word, spend time in prayer, and obey His leading. This is how you grow in grace, in knowledge, and in power.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace and for the invitation to grow in You daily. Help me to desire Your Word, to walk closely with You, and to grow in my understanding of Your love and truth. Strengthen me to remain rooted in You so I can withstand any challenges I may face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
1️⃣ Read: Meditate on 2 Peter 3:18, asking God to give you a hunger for growth.
2️⃣ List: Write down one area in your life where you want to grow in grace, and one area where you want to grow in knowledge of Jesus.
3️⃣ Act: Share what you are learning with someone today and encourage them to grow in Jesus too.
