Renewed by God’s Power
During World War II, Winston Churchill often faced long nights of exhaustion. Yet he encouraged his people with words of hope, saying, “We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Give us the tools and we will finish the job.” His confidence stirred a weary nation to keep pressing on.
Centuries earlier, the prophet Isaiah offered words of greater strength, words not from man, but from God Himself:
“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Life can leave us weary, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our own strength fails. But Isaiah reminds us of a simple yet profound truth: those who wait on the Lord will find renewal.
To “wait on the Lord” means to trust, to rest, and to hope in Him. Like an eagle soaring high above the storm, God lifts us above our struggles. His strength carries us when ours is gone.
Prayer:
Lord, when I am weary and burdened, lift me by Your Spirit. Teach me to wait on You, to trust in Your timing, and to walk in Your strength. Renew my heart tonight and prepare me for tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
- Pause Tonight: Take five minutes in silence, simply waiting on the Lord.
- Give Him Your Weariness: Write down one burden and surrender it to God in prayer.
- Encourage Another: Share Isaiah 40:31 with someone who feels tired or discouraged.
